Fabulous Fabric for Fey Frocks for February

I am so happy! I found a much coveted fabric to make a new shirt!

Some Spo-fans know I make tropical shirts. In 2007 I did not make any – I could not find any fabric that caught my fancy. I have so many shirts; nowadays it takes a fabulous fabric to become a member of the “Spo line”.

Someone and I are going on a cruise next month and I want to make a new shirt (lest there is “talk”)

In 2002 I found this fantastic fabric in Key West. I made a shirt for the Best Friend. Since then I have hoped to find more of the same fabric.

This is called ‘Beach Boys”. It is full of spry young lads with surf boards and hibiscus flowers. Isn’t it fabulous? Thanks to the wonderful world of the internet, I found ‘Beach Boys’ in red and in blue.

As soon as the fabric arrives I plan to buckle down in making matching shirts for Someone and me - just in time for the cruise.

Ain’t that sweet?

Is that fabric like some of those drink glasses with the images of guys in swimwear that, when they get wet the swimwear disappears? If so, be careful wearing those shirts to the pool!

Though what I think he is implying is that you make several sets of shirts for each day. Have you checked equilter.com? I bet you could make a whole wardrobe!

And then, I think you should make one for Doug too.

Urspo - somewhere in Gossemer Tapestry he has photos of his Spo-Line shirts - covered with (surprise!) bugs and butterflies!

Oh dear Cod, what would Martha Stewart say!? I dare you, I double-dog DARE you to send a photo of the two of you in your completed ensembles, plus bowties of course, to VRM.

I really can’t talk — if you saw the picture I have in my head for this bedspread I’m making, you’d faint dead away.

I’m with Cliffie………….I want to see these finished and modeled with umbrella-held drink in hand, and pinky raised. Oh well. I DO kid, these WILL certainly get lots of conversations started on the cruise, and that’s exactly what they should do. GREAT FABRIC……………………er, rather, fabulous.
