Many years ago a patient of mine traveled to Morocco. He brought back this talisman.
It is a charm to ward off ‘The Evil Eye’. I am not clear what the Evil Eye is exactly, but this item is supposed to keep away negativism, hostile vibrations, and evil thoughts.
He thought I could use one with all I see and encounter in a days’ work.
Well, it ain’t working.
I am up to my ears with people’s negativism and hostile vibrations.
Perhaps the charm is ‘full’ after 10 year’s use and needs to be changed, not unlike the water filter.
Perhaps it needs ‘recharging’ like a reusable battery.
Or perhaps it need to be replaced with something more likely to ward of negativism.
Perhaps one of the following items will work?
Garlic
A Patronus Spell
A pit bull
Bracelets
A bouncer (nasty)
The Evil Eye itself
Perhaps I should address excessive negatism with a more positive approach, using :
Fairy Dust
Chocolate
A bouncer (woofy)
Humor
And there is always Gin and Tonic

Should the gin and tonic and the chocolate fail you. Sprinkle some salt on the tailsman, think postive thoughts and when negative Nancy or Nate come back, hit them with it. (Salt does bring out the flavor)

The talisman is painted blue because that is the color that is supposed to keep of the evil eye. That is why they dress little boys in blue. Because they don’t care as much about little girls they dress them in pink and other colors.
I think the chocolate should be taken with a good single malt scotch.

Is this multiple choice? I’ll take the woofy bouncer, chocolate, and humor, please. To go.

I want the woofy bouncer. If I come to your office, can I be assured that he will rough me up? Please?

The talisman is indeed full. When talismans fill up, they are to be sucked on. This one looks like it would have that inimitable blue gumball sort of flavoring with peppermint cream insides. But I may be mistaken…

Are you sure it came from Morocco? Because a glass ‘Evil Eye’ is very common in Turkey, especially along the coastal regions. Every ship has one, sometimes even a painted one on the stern.
Start with a G&T then some humor and finish with the bouncer.

Trade in the evil eye for Idle Eyes…that’s a trade up in anybodies book. Sending you positive energy…and my wonder woman bracelets, of course!

I think you should use Lynda Carter, I mean the bracelets. That would at least keep you out of trouble, unlike using woofy.

I vote for the bouncer. And if that doesn’t work, I think you’d look spiffy sporting those Wonder Woman bracelets.

I vote for the bouncer too. He might not help, but he certainly couldn’t hurt.

Bracelets and a G&T get my vote… followed by bouncing with the bouncer, of course.

Good ideas. Start with the garlic, it’s a must. Garlic bread with olive oil and maybe a little touch of salt to spark up the flavor. That will give you something to munch on while you make a large pitcher of gin and tonics. After an appropriate interval, when you’ve had enough gin and tonic to relax, but not quite enough to fall over– sprinkle fairy dust. Holding the talisman in both hands, sway gently (gently!) back and forth, speaking the words of the ancient American boy scout invocation: “oh wah, tagoo, siam”. Finalize the ceremony by going to bed with a woofy bouncer.
If that doesn’t make you feel better, well… I don’t know, it’s always worked for me.

Perhaps the eye is facing the wrong direction and is welcoming the neggies. Just a thought. Of course, Chocolate and a G & T couldn’t hurt.
