The other day I donned my ‘bear colors’ bow tie and black shirt. I often wear this ensemble as the two go well together (no aliens were consulted).

The Bow tie: holding up marvelous!
The Black shirt: the current incarnation is holding up fair, it is getting a bit threadbare; time for a new one.
The rest: well….. let’s say I’m still here. 🙂

Bow ties are kind of hard to wear out. I still have my black one from college.

This one is made with a strong durable fabric. Thanks to my sewing experience whenever I buy trousers, ties, and other wearing apparel I finger the fabric for its quality.

Forget the quality, feel the width!

Love the 2020 look, so distinguished, it has gravitas.Where are those extra bags you are talking about, did not see them.

Dunno there are no written records or survivors from that era to know for sure.

My, what a handsome man you are! Did you make the shirts? I think not.
February 19, 2020 at 3:09 PM

My shirts are loud mult-colored monstrosities . Pure black? not mine!
you can buy these better and faster than making them.

Well I’d buy either one of those gentlemen a drink in one of those bars that nature’s bachelors frequent.

Wonderful photos and tie. Black shirts don’t last very long.

You’re looking better with age! Make sure the new black shirt comes with black buttons. 🙂

Hmmm I don’t trust the look of that first guy, small squinting little eyes, kinda shifty looking if you ask me. The second guy looks warm and friendly. It also looks like they work as ushers in the same place however.

I would make a very poor usher for I would want to set limits and structure and not take backtalk.

If your get rid of the shirt with black buttons, cut the buttons off and replace white buttons with the black ones.
February 20, 2020 at 6:54 AM
Urspo
Dear me this sounds complicated. I do cut off the buttons of shirts past their prime and use’em for other projects.

Echoing Linda above (and if I may be so bold) I was also going to state how you’ve maintained your ‘handsomeness’ over the years. And your shirt? – What shirt? – and don’t go all coy on me by saying “It’s the light!” 😉

Oh, I was referring back to the Linda P.P. of course.

Yes, the point was the perfect shirt might have white buttons, so it could beupgraded with black buttons. Sewing buttons on is not hard. When i was twelve, i learned to sew on buttons with the sewing machine.

One can not always count on the lighting; one has to rely on self-cynosure.

It’s probably time for a new shirt, but that bow tie is a keeper and aging well. Looking good there, too!
