Þvörusleikir – Spoon Licker

Spoon Licker sneaks into houses on the evening of the fifteen and licks all the wooden spoons used to scrape the pots and pans. I tell Someone this is why it’s a good thing to put the dirty utensils directly in the dishwasher rather than let them lay about. It is hoped Mr. Licker waits until after the spoon-tasks are over and not ‘while in use”.  This poor diet makes him one of the thinner lads. I wonder what treats he puts in the shoes of the good boys and girls. I hope they are wrapped, otherwise one would suspect……

Today is Someone’ birthday which is just ‘another day’ as requested.  After work we will have a chicken pot pie, one he made over the weekend. He doesn’t cook much but he makes a pot pie with relish. They are very good – even better when they ‘sit’ for a day in the fridge. I eat them with hot sauce, of which I have plenty at the moment, thanks to the hot sauce advent calendar. I plan to have each bite with a dab of a different hot sauce. It seems apropos for a day lauded over by the likes of Spoon Licker.
