Come see what happens in my mind when Urs Truly bites the big one…..
The Board of Directors Here at Spo-Reflections does not take kindly to standing in lines. You can imagine when it comes to standing in lines and following orders they have all the patience of chickens after table scraps. [1] Nor do they take kindly to entries about standing in lines. Mythical Viking editors are definitely in the ‘chaotic neutral’ category of Dungeons & Dragons. [2] Lately they have been asking me to drive them to their various appointments given they have been banned (again) from Uber and the like. They won’t ride the tramline as this requires masks, and because car rides are one of their few pleasures in life, necessary for groceries, and free (since I pay for gas), they say I could at least put myself out to take them considering all they do for me. Urs Truly doesn’t like to consider all they do for me, but I am bracing myself to take them hither and yonder. I don’t know where this is going so I will stop.
OK, I’ve waited an evening at home for the Muses (or somebody like them) to inspire me to expand on this towards to something coherent and clever. Fat chance of that. As Father likes to say, I am bereft of an idea. I suppose I could educate on the D&D alignment categories but that sounds both dreadful and grasping for straws. [3]
If one has nothing to say should one skip a day of blogging until there is something substantial to write upon, or should one ‘write something, anything’ to be regular although it is rubbish? TBDHSR thinks most of what I write is rubbish, so that is no help. The Lawful Good in me says to do the latter, and apparently it is winning as here I am typing away when there is nothing coming out (oh the horror). The Chaotic Neutral element of my psyche doesn’t give a tosh what I write but simply likes typing and seeing what comes out, and it is infinitely more fun than writing progress notes which I should be doing.
I can take comfort that tomorrow is ‘World of Mine Wednesday’s Ws’, which provides structure; I do well with structure. TBDHSR says I don’t need structure so much as discipline and I cannot deny it.
I better push the publish button before this degenerates any further or I go back to Spo-reflections on alignment.
[1] Chickens are down-right ferocious at getting at whatever is put down for them. Patience above!
[2] Urs Truly is Lawful Good – most days.
[3] Oh very well, for thems interested ……..

I’m definitely Chaotic Neutral. I’ve learned over the years that sometimes rules are either something to strictly follow, or in some cases use them as a guideline provided I don’t end up in the back of a cop car at the end of the day.

Many Tricksters in Mythology are such, it is why we like them so much. They discard all the rules and act out our fantasies

I think most days I am Lawful good with a splash of chaotic neutral.

This is the recipe for a classic Manhattan good for you!

What a demanding board, they need to learn the classic principle of delegate – IE – ask to write – and trust – what ever you write is the best that that is written that day. As my mentor pointed out to me, “they won’t make any more mistakes than you would.” If they don’t behave cut off the herring and beer until learn to recognize your brilliance.

I have sent to The Board a certified letter you are my attorney in all matters of blogging. I doubt it will do any good. Most of all because most of them cannot read. On the other hand they are not against trade and negotiation, so be advised they may be dropping by to do so. I’d advise you to lock up the liquor though, Sven is a mean drunk.

Hmm, as I fall inthe category of writing often with little substance to share, I say write when the urge strikes.

hohoho
i have a nonstop urge to write – even when I should be doing something else and (worse) when I have nothing to write.

I’ve seen those alignment categories used in many memes but I never knew where they came from — now I know! D&D! Thanks for educating me.

If I cannot entertain at least I should educate.

You could always blog about tying up loose ends. Did Someone miss you? Did Harper notice you were gone? Are you up to your oxters in work now? Did you bring home any chickens (or mosquitoes) as pets?
Is the TBDHSR comprised of dogs, by any chance? It would explain why they are banned on Uber, why they won’t wear masks, and why they love car rides.

Indeed I am up to my oxters in work; I will probably spend all evening getting caught up.
Those wild and crazy Board Members don’t resemble dogs so much as a tarasques – small ones and without the charms.

I haven’t blogged since last Thursday — we spent a long weekend away — and I must say that, while when I usually go away, I have pore-planned posts, I kinda liked not having anything to say.
I needed the break, and those who follow probably needed a break, too!

Funny how I ‘don’t mind’ others taking a break from blogging but I mind when I do.

Well, I’m just relieved that anyone else Writes a Blog Post when they really don’t have any idea what they’re going to say and absolutely have nothing to say! *Whew!* I thought I might be the only one that simply insists something relevant, clever, meaningful or profound might just come out of the fingertips even if the Mind is empty. Your initial paragraph was hilarious only because I didn’t have any idea what you might be talking about and then I wondered if I was perhaps going a bit senile and it made perfect sense to everyone else?

Most of the time I start writing not knowing where this is going until an idea takes form and then I erase the first paragraph. This time I just let it lie there half-baked and unedited. Oh the embarrassment.

Which of the “evil” categories would you assign to the former president?
July 21, 2021 at 6:46 PM
Richard Portman
Former. Finished. Done. We are not interested. We are busy. Go away. No interest in talking about him. Not interested in arguing with his apologists. Go away to the television. You can watch fox news and spend your short life listening to that.
So no, this question is bullshit.

I despise the former president. I do truly wonder how a man so mentally ill and evil in his intentions could be chosen by so many Americans.

There are tons written on ‘why’. There have always been people in history who rise based on the power of our collective Shadow projected onto them. We give them the power, they take it. There are people who still defend Stalin as a savior and would welcome his return. Alas, it is just a matter of time before these sorts return.

If ‘good’ is ‘concerned with others’, I don’t think he fits this into this category. He seemed to me he only cared for himself, and those who adored him. Was he lawful? Lawful folks are concerned with rules and what’s right. Again I don’t think he cared for rules, he got around them or changed them.
That narrows down to neutral or chaotic evil. I vote for neutral for a chaotic evil person would not have bothered to go into politics with its structure or law; he would have gone off on his own.
