Spo-Reflections on a porch in Flagstaff

“Sometimes I sits and thinks, and sometimes I just sits”

I am at Starlight Pine Bed & Breakfast, in Flagstaff, for my annual June holiday. The temperatures back home range from 90-110, but here it is a lovely 45-85. This morning on my daily walk I had to wear a jacket!

Starlight’s porch is one of my favorite places in the universe – well, the parts of the universe I’ve seen so far.  As I sit on the wooden porch, a cool breeze shakes the chimes creating a lovely ‘clang’ (in E-flat).  I have my cup of tea (chai). I have a book (The biography of Kay Thompson). What more does one need?  Life is good.

And Life is peaceful. I have no plans for the day; no obligations. I could sit here all day if I wanted. Can you imagine?  Sitting still is very challenging for me, but when I accomplish it, I wonder why the heck don’t I do this more often?

For now, I think I will sit on the porch swing. The nasty iphone is upstairs and out of reach. I will put my hummingbird mind into neutral and  listen to the chimes and the distant trains, and zen out.
