This shirt’s design is Frida Kahlo, who is a very popular artist (at least around here). She lived in Mexico. The pattern is taken right off of some of her paintings.
Alas, the shirt is ‘extra large’ as so is she! I couldn’t get her to fit into a medium/large.
I skipped the pocket for it interfered with the layout.
I am not sure about this one. It has some a couple of minor glitches to it; probably no one but I would care.
As it is ‘roomy’ I may give it away or perhaps make it a present at Christmas.
Still, it would make a nice shirt if we go to Puerta Vallata next winter…..

Beautiful! You did a great job! I remember the movie, Frida, about ten years back, in movie theaters. It was my introduction to her (and to Salma Hayek). I loved the movie!

I love the fabric. But I am afraid the shirt would be too small for me.

It looks fantastic. And remember, the pocket is an artistic decision; shirts don’t always need them.

This pic doesn’t do it just justice. It makes the background color look white when it is, dare I say it; ecru.

Blimey! Every bit as eye-catching as ‘Lydia’ (No, I’m not going to elucidate) but twice as alluring! Well done to you, sir!

Link to her biographical movie above. It is one of the most beautifull films I have ever watched. In my opinion Frida was one of the most acomplished artist of her time and will remain a top artist of all time. Her true work is very disturbing yet some of the most well executed and truthful work out there. Her work is so much more than the self portraits that are so commomly seen, but yet her self portraits convey passion and emotion beyond what most any artist can even dream of conveying. He husband, Diego Rivera, is much more widely known…especially during their lifetime, yet he even openly admitted that she was a much beter ARTIST than he. As time passes she will become better and better known. If you have not seen the movie and or have not seen a full ehibition of her work (warning….can be very….very disturbing) it is a must. A woman of passion, feeling and GREAT talent.
