Woo Hoo!! Obviously you can count me in. I’m cool with your fabulous shirt #3.

Greg’s leaving Monday and will be gone for 11 days and he’s taking the camera with him! How soon are you planning on starting?

who can say? I guess I can send a shirt out in a week or so – you should be its first stop of course !

Sign me up! I’m kind of partial to the last two shirt choices….

You can count me in too. I like shirt #2 and 3, though shirt #4 might be highly symbolic.

I like the idea and I like #2 but I’m wondering whether I can join.

I would be honored if you can join !

Honor would be mine too. I’ll send you email later.

Count me in too, love the surfer-boys shirt but any will do.

what a FABULOUS idea! “retirement fund for old spos” – bwhahahahaha!
I am partial to shirt #1 myself. but I don’t have a blog…would that be a problem?
and all the charities you mention are worthy causes.
tell me you have your own shirt label sewn into the collar…

Count me in on the Great Spo-loha Shirt Caper! I think it’s a great idea 🙂

Shirt #3 catches my eye 🙂

I can’t watch due to the fact that I’m at work, and they ‘block’ anything fun. I’ll watch at home and then comment for real…but I already have a feeling that I’ll totally be on board with this…. 🙂

Sounds like a great idea but I wear a 3 X so I doubt it would fit me but if it did I really like # 1.
September 10, 2010 at 5:30 AM
Peter
I don’t think it will fit me either, but who said you had to button up? People do weirder things for charity.

Count me in.
I vote for shirt #2 (i like the totem and the PNW).
And I vote for the Humane Society donation. 🙂

I would love to be in on this! Shirt #2 would be my chemise of choice as I have family now in the Pacific Northwest and visit there annually.
Fritz suggests a plain white or light colored shirt sent around with a good quality fabric pen. Each blogger signs the shirt, perhaps adding a sketch, and you get back an artifact created by those who know and love you!

I like this idea too…but I am not an artist, so my signature will have to do.

I will participate. I like shirt #1. What do you need from me now? An address?
September 10, 2010 at 8:10 AM

That sounds like a crazy-awesome idea – Oh, and shirt #2 FTW, btw!;)

I’ll do it, if there is still a spot. I like the “totem” shirt.
September 10, 2010 at 10:10 AM
D. Dave
Well, I don’t think anyone thus far has gone for the “shirt” shirt, which seems to me the right choice, since… well, since the subject of the ‘ploy’ is the shirt making the rounds, right?
As far as anyone divulging their actual mailing address, I don’t think you collect bad people, so, seems utterly ‘safe’ to me. And to have a garment of the famous Spo even temporarily would be (as Miss Lorelei Lee once put it) ‘ever-so’ !
September 10, 2010 at 10:13 AM
Rick
Sounds like a clever idea. Does the shirt have to be worn in the photo taken? I’m not familiar with the concept. I like totem poles. They’re very phallic so I’m game.
I like the new banner photo.

I have not read the other comments.
You are too too cute.
Love the Fabulous Boy shirt.
Love to participate.
Love the Prostate Cancer idea.
Now I have to go watch that again. LOL

I’m in. Any of your fabu designs would be fine be me.

Okay, add me to the list. Any shirt will do, but I’m partial to #1 and 4. When we ship it to the next person, do we add our donation and preference?
I did this with a stuffed penguin that came from a ten-year-old boy in Connecticut. We would take a picture of Bob the Penguin, write about it in his journal, put the picture in his pack, and ship it to someone we knew who would participate. When I got Bob from my sister in Alaska, he had already been halfway around the world. He’d been gone almost a year, and it was my job to send him back home by the due date. What a blast.

Urspo
wow! that is exactly what I hope to accomplish. It would be fun to get some journaling – I hadn’t thought of this. It was enough to get some photos. I think when someone gets it, posts it, I will get the ‘heads up’ and then donate to the charity of their choice. I need to get this ball rolling……

A journal is a wonderful idea. A group I was in sent a handmade doll around – my doll was in a hurricane, went to all the monuments in DC, and took a ride on the Mississippi in a sternwheeler.
No telling what exciting adventures your shirt will have (you will probably be jealous).

A “Spo-Shirt World Tour Journal” sounds great!

I will include such; I think I would treasure everyone’s input. Michael You will participate I trust?

Great idea. Of course I’ll participate. It’s the least I can do- my Spo shirt collection has become something of a trademark at butterfly conferences and workshops.

Count me in…but I want to be last on the list so I can smell all your hot blogging buddies on the shirt. Totally kidding there!
This is a wonderful idea and I really like shirts 1 and 4 but regardless of which you send about…I’ll “make it work”.

How do we organize the addresses? Email to you?
September 14, 2010 at 7:32 PM
Urspo
I am not sure; I will collect from my emails and comments the men and women interested; and keep tabs so all get their turn. I’ll try to guide it from here; but who can say what will happen. That is part of the thrill. I would love to have you part of it – will you join?
September 15, 2010 at 11:30 AM

Oh, yeah. I’m in.

the cajun
Please include me, too. You KNOW I love your shirts (and would love to have one of my own – they would be great for work at the restaurant) and any of the 4 will do nicely.
Am I understanding correctly that we don the shirt for a picture and post it to our blogs, let you know, send it on to the next blogger and YOU are making the donations to the charities?
Or, do we send our donations to you?
Sorry to be so late to the party, hope I’m not to late to participate.
What a festive idea!!!
September 15, 2010 at 11:31 AM

You get the shirt; you wear it/post the photo. I smile and ask you what charity do you want me to contribute (I have 4 lined up). Then, you pass it on to another blogger – either I will tell you ‘whose next’ or if you know of a volunteer already. (this last part isn’t too well planned yet, but this is some of the adventure, not knowing what happens next.) M

count me in… i see it’s going to John at I”VE GOT SOMETHING TO SAY who lives South of Boston. I live in South Boston (a different place!) so i don’t know if you want two Boston guys in a row but please contact me if you want some east coast flair added to your photo collection!

I forget if I returned your email, so I apologize if I have already done so (dumb and dizzy that’s me darling) I would be honored if you were part of this; it makes sense of the shirt to pass on locally prior to longer hauls across time and space If you don’t have a ‘next person’, I have a list of those waiting. Michael
PS – one of the nice things about this process is I get to learn /meet new bloggers. I promise to stop by soon.

Spo,
If you’re sending a shirt to the cajun, he can forward it to me. We’re neighbors in the Rehoboth Beach area. Just ask him to give me the shirt (I can pick it up from him at work or even take a picture of him at work with your shirt on) and then take a picture of myself with your shirt.
Thanks!
Ron

Help ! Which Cajun? I know of two in the blogosphere. Please clarify!
October 14, 2010 at 8:11 AM
Ron Tipton
Spo,
Sorry. The “Cajun” I’m referring to lives in Rehoboth Beach, DE. His blog is “On Transmigration.” You can send the shirt to him or me. My address is:
Ron Tipton
30231 Whitehall Drive
Milton, DE 19968-3781
If you send the shirt to me I can give it to him after I get my picture taken. I’ll take his picture too since I’m the picture taking guy in this area.
Thanks!
Ron
